The Browns are unofficially named after coach Paul Brown, but the official story claimed it was a tribute to boxer Joe 'The Brown Bomber' Louis after a name-the-team contest.
The team colorsâburnt orange, seal brown, and whiteâwere borrowed from Bowling Green State University, where the Browns held training camp from 1946-1951.
The Browns are one of only four NFL teams without a logo on their helmet. The distinctive plain orange helmet IS the logo.
